Easter Sunday

The celebration of Easter Sunday in our hometown, Taloto District of Tagbilaran City, Bohol was concluded with a joyous rite as we commemorate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
My childhood followed the religious tradition where Jesus and Mother Mary meet before Jesus is ascended into heaven. Our parents woke me and my other 4 siblings before midnight to welcome the Easter Sunday.

In other places in the Philippines, this is called salubong which means "welcome". But to us, we grew up calling it hugos. There are children that portray as angels standing on a balcony while singing Alleluiah. Other way is lifting the main angel through a harness then hoists the black veil from Mary’s head.

Our youngest sister became one of the angels in her preschool days.

I became an angel twice - those were the days when I am at my kid's age today.

But I didn't had that chance to become part of Hugos angels so I guess my kids should take it. After their School Recognition, we directly traveled to Bohol for their scheduled practice every 4pm to 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays for 2 weeks prior the Easter Sunday event.

Here are my little angels:
